About
Franklin Theatre Company (FTC) is a high school theatre company in Elk Grove, California.
Franklin Theatre Company's program director beginning in the 2020-21 school year is Caitlin Knapp, after the founder of FTC, Lisa Sandoval, retired after 18 years. There are, on average, four classes per day where students have the opportunity to learn all about theatre, from beginning theatre one and advanced theatre to Children's theatre and Stagecraft classes.
FTC is supported by the parent booster group, the Franklin Theatre Association (FTA). Without their support, FTC could not be able to produce so many shows. The parent volunteers help provide the support in so many ways -- from helping us backstage to running our concessions stand.
FTC also works in cooperation with Toby Johnson Middle School's Jaguar Theatre Company. Thanks to their Artistic Director, Ms. Corinne Spinelli, many students participate in an annual musical and other productions at Toby. Classes exchange events during the day a couple times each school year and Toby Johnson students either audition for FTC's annual spring musical or come to work with productions at FTC.
Franklin Theatre Company is part of the Visual and Performing Arts Department (VAPA) at Franklin High School. The VAPA Department includes:
